On the drawing board

I'm working on some more large drawings for the show at LeBasse Projects in May, but this time they'll have colour.

That's a good one Mel. I especially like the spindly grevillea plant. They normally grow as bushes but I like how it almost looks like a vine. Those kinds of flowers are evolved to attract honey-eaters as opposed to bees. My dad likes them along with banksias and warratahs. He grows them so if you want any dried ones let us know.

Hi Andrew, I'm taking a bit of artistic license with this one :-)

There will be a bird - but a humming bird, not a honey-eater. The problem was that making it a vine meant I had no where for the honey-eater to perch to get to the flowers, so am having to use a non-native to make it all work.

Looks great so far! I really like the grevillea as well. I'm working on something with a grevillea in it now too! We have some towering trees out the front - much taller than the house. I can't wait til they're flowering again because all the little birds just go nuts!!

Alex, maybe we can start a grevillea trend :)
